A pedestrian was struck by a car in Lebanon, New Hampshire, early Saturday morning. It happened near the intersection of North Main Street and East Wilder Road in Lebanon.

Police say Derek Moniz was headed south on North Main Street when he struck Anthony Ciaccia, 21, of White River Junction, who was walking in the roadway.

Police believe Ciaccia may have been impaired and walking in the road, and they say that appears to be a factor in the accident. They say the case is still under investigation but they do not anticipate any charges for the driver.

Ciaccia was taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening. He is expected to be released later in the week.
