Police: New York man had children in car during chase

AUSABLE, N.Y. (WCAX) A police chase on New York's Northway ended in an arrest on Tuesday.

New York State Police say a trooper tried to stop Justin Santiago, 28, after he was clocked speeding on Interstate 87 in Keeseville. He took off instead, leading police on a 10-mile chase through the towns of Peru and AuSable.

Police say Santiago pulled over on Route 9 in Keeseville and ran into the woods. A police K-9 tracked him down.

Police discovered two small children and a female passenger in the car.

Santiago was treated for bite wounds. The Staten Island man faces multiple charges including fleeing from police, endangering the welfare of a child and reckless endangerment.
