ST. ALBANS, Vt. (WCAX) A St. Albans woman faces multiple charges following a high-speed chase and crash Tuesday night.
Police say it all started when they tried to pull over Melissa Labounty, 31, on Bushey Road in Swanton. They say she allegedly took off and crashed into another car on Route 207 near Route 7, and then fled on foot.
She was found and taken to the hospital. Police say she then forced a driver to take her to her home, leaving her GPS monitor in their car.
Police say she was eventually found at home again. She's now in jail on $25,000 bail and is due in court Wednesday on charges including attempting to elude and gross negligent operation.
