Pedaling to fight hunger in Vermont

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. People were cycling and sweating, for a good cause.

Hunger Free Vermont partnered with Rev Indoor Cycling in South Burlington for a relay spin event. Teams of indoor cyclists biked for four hours today in an effort to raise money for the non-profit organization and their mission to end hunger injustice and malnutrition in Vermont. All forty bikes were rented out for the event, at $100 per bike.

"Small businesses should really be supportive of non-profits in the community so we've donated our facility, donated our time completely for this event," said the owner of Rev, Sarah Degray.

"It's really wonderful when we see our community come together to do something that's really fun for them, great for their health and great for their community," said Alida Duncan of Hunger Free Vermont.

Hunger Free Vermont was able to collect around $4,500 from the event.
