SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) Pinball players in Chittenden County were having a ball Saturday.
The Pinball Co-op of South Burlington hosted a tournament which brought out people from all over New England and Canada to test their skills.
The event had an entry fee which paid out the cash prizes at the end of the day.
Competitors had set scores to meet for each game to move on
Organizers and participants say it's the game and the people which make the tournament fun.
"Even though it's a lot of elements of video games and rules and, you know, ways to explore the game, but just the real interaction with a with a physical ball is a very cool thing," said Steve Daniels with Pin-Masters of Vermont.
"It's a lot more fun to compete than just play an arcade game in your basement. You get to meet a lot of really nice people in the pinball family. I know a lot of people here it's not just a competitive thing it is also a social thing,” said Phil Birnbaum from Ottawa, Ontario.
There were about 40 competitors Saturday, some are nationally ranked.
