Police investigating fatal fire in Plattsburgh Town

New York State Police are investigating a fatal early morning fire in the town of Plattsburgh.

It happened around 1 a.m. at a home on Peaceful Way. Authorities say first responders were able to get into the apartment and remove Michael Malpass, 61, They attempted life-saving measures, but Malpass was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are on scene to determine the cause of the fire.
