Police make arrest in Vermont bank robbery

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. (WCAX) Police have made an arrest in Monday's bank robbery in White River Junction.

Stephen Lynch

Stephen Lynch, 28, formerly of Windsor, Vermont, was arrested Monday afternoon in Massachusetts.

Hartford Police say Lynch was the masked man who walked into the Mascoma Bank on Maple Street just after 2 p.m., passed a teller a note implying he had a gun and then made off with an undetermined amount of cash.

Police say they identified a vehicle of interest in the robbery, and troopers in Massachusetts spotted that car on Interstate 91 with Lynch inside. They say he was identified from the surveillance photos and police recovered a large amount of cash. Lynch is charged with robbery and receiving stolen property. His attorney said Tuesday Lynch agreed to return to Vermont.

Another person in the car, Katelyn Grizzaffi, 23, of Lebanon, New Hampshire, also faces charges of receiving stolen property.

Police say the investigation is still underway and additional arrests and charges are pending.
