JOHNSON, Vt. (WCAX) A police pursuit on Thursday ended in a crash in Johnson.
Deputies with the Lamoille County Sherriff's Department say they first saw a car on Route 12 in Elmore going 112 mph.
As the car passed the deputy, police say they recognized it as one that had gotten away two times earlier in the day.
The pursuit went 40 miles through five towns and ended with a crash at the Vermont Electric Co-op in Johnson.
Police say Lynwood Whittemore was driving the car. He and his passenger had injuries that were not life-threatening.
Whittemore was charged with attempting to elude, excessive speed and gross negligent operation. He's due in court Friday afternoon.
