Rain expected to help battle against NY wildfire

ALTONA, N.Y. (WCAX) Rain is expected to help crews continuing to fight a wildfire in New York's Flat Rock State Forest.

Officials say the fire is now 75 percent contained and that the fire has scorched over 530 acres. About 159 firefighters from state and local agencies have been battling the fire.

Officials say there was no significant growth in the fire overnight and that crews continue to build fire lines. Air support from the National Guard Monday added to the more than 150,000 gallons of water used to douse the fire.

Officials say there are no structures in danger and there have been no reported injuries.
