St. Johnsbury men charged with trafficking drugs on 'dark web'

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) A pair of Vermont men are under arrest for conspiring to sell drugs over the "dark web."

This comes after a year-long operation by several federal agencies -- the first nationwide undercover action to target vendors on the dark web. Two Saint Johnsbury men -- Sam Bent and Djeneba Bent -- are accused of conspiracy to distribute LSD, ecstasy, cocaine and marijuana.

The indictment alleges that they set up accounts on dark web marketplaces, established online identities and accepted Bitcoin in exchange for drugs and then mailed the drugs from several post offices in Vermont and New Hampshire.
