Sanders Institute expects who's who of progressive politics for meeting
A who's who of progressive politics will arrive in Burlington this week. The high-profile roster includes Hollywood actors, activists, educators and mayors of places like San Juan, Puerto Rico, and New York City.
They will be in town for an event organized by the Sanders Institute, a progressive think tank launched by Jane Sanders, the wife of Sen. Bernie Sanders. It will be the institute's first big meeting. They will look at issues of economic, environmental, social and racial justice and seek solutions that put people ahead of corporations.
The Sanders Institute Gathering is not connected to the senator or his political campaign. But Bernie Sanders will give the opening address on Thursday.
Jane Sanders sat down with our Darren Perron to talk about the gathering. Watch the video for the full interview.
