PORT HENRY, N.Y. (WCAX) A school threat had parents concerned in Northern New York on Friday morning.
Moriah Central Schools Superintendent William Larrow says the school and their school resource officer started investigating a rumored hit list on Thursday night.
Classes went on as scheduled on Friday.
It was a student from the school who brought the rumor to the attention of school administrators. After word from parents started circulating on social media, the school posted on Facebook informing the parents they were aware of the threat and it was being investigated.
While the investigation is still underway, school officials say they have found nothing credible at this time. Larrow says they take threats and student safety very seriously, and that students would not have been let on school grounds if officials thought their safety was at risk.
