BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) U.S. alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin continues to grow her Green Mountain fan base after putting on quite the show during World Cup races at at Killington Thanksgiving weekend.
The Burke Mountain Academy grad won her third straight slalom there. And last weekend Shiffrin made history again, getting her first World Cup victory in the Super G.
With the win, she becomes the first skier to ever earn a win in all six World Cup disciplines, the slalom, parallel slalom, giant slalom, super-G, downhill and alpine combined. It's her 46th World Cup win and only three other women have won more.
Galen Rowell spoke with our Scott Fleishman, who has covered Shiffrin for years, dating back to her days at Burke Mountain Academy.
