WILLISTON, Vt. (WCAX) Slick roads led to several slide-offs on the roads Monday afternoon.
We saw one car that went off the road on Interstate 89 north in Williston. Then, while a trooper was putting out flares, another car lost control and went off the road, nearly hitting the trooper. And a couple more cars crashed in that same area.
None of the drivers were hurt but the trooper's leg and hand were injured when he jumped out of the way.
Vermont State Police are reminding drivers to slow down.
"It's almost December now. Snow's falling, we need people to slow down, be aware of their surroundings and if they haven't already installed tires with decent tread, to do that," Vt. State Police Cpl. Andrew Leise said.
Police suggest getting snow tires if you haven't already.
