South Burlington Lyft driver cited for lewd act

COLCHESTER, Vt. (WCAX) Police say they have charged a South Burlington Lyft driver with lewd behavior following an incident early Saturday.

Colchester Police say Thomas Rosser, 42, was bringing the victim from downtown Burlington to Colchester. She complained the backseat was too cold and so Rosser allegedly told her the heat worked better up front. But shortly after she moved to the passenger seat, police say he grabbed the woman's hand and placed it on his exposed penis.

"She immediately jerked her hand away and she was dropped off at her location in just a matter of a few seconds, as this took place fairly close to the location she was being dropped off at," said Colchester Police Sgt. Michael Fish.

The woman called 911 after she was dropped off.

Rosser was arrested Monday for lewd and lascivious conduct. He is due to appear in court on Thursday.

Colchester Police advise anyone who has fallen victim to a crime like this to report it to local authorities.
