South Burlington coin dealer to avoid jail time

A South Burlington coin and jewelry businessman will avoid prison time.

Stephen Edwards, 71, pleaded guilty to failing to take proper theft-prevention measures for items in his store. He's facing fines and probation.

Edwards was charged alongside other coin dealers after stolen items were recovered from their shops.

Edwards is also facing unrelated felony sex abuse charges.
