Stefanik enlisted to boost republican women running for office

Republicans say they want more women in Congress and they've tapped North Country Congresswoman Elise Stefanik to help.
Thursday Stefanik held a press conference to introduce E-PAC to the world. The political action committee aims to engage, empower, elevate and elect more republican women to Congress in 2020 and beyond.
The number of republican women in the house dropped from 23 to 13 in the new Congress. To reverse that trend, E-PAC will identify female candidates to qualify for aid before primary races begin.
"These candidates will qualify for a formal slate by meeting certain benchmarks like fundraising, campaign strategy, district data and budget," Stefanik said.
Republicans elected just one female freshman representative during the 2018 midterm elections.
