Students raise money to honor classmates killed in crash

DUXBURY, Vt. (WCAX) The senior class at Harwood Union High School is raising money to honor the young victims of a deadly wrong-way crash.

The students' class gift will be a gazebo dedicated to the victims. A ceremony is scheduled for Oct. 5.

Harwood students Eli Brookens, Liam Hale, Mary Harris and Cyrus Zschau died in the 2016 crash. Janie Cozzi, who went to school in New Hampshire, was also killed.

Driver Steven Bourgoin has pleaded not guilty to five counts of murder. His trial starts in February 2018.
