A sugarhouse was destroyed in an early morning fire in Richford.

Authorities say no one was hurt but the equipment is a total loss. Fire crews say they got to the Guilmette Road location just after midnight Tuesday morning. They say an old barn converted into a sugarhouse was engulfed in flames.

Police say the owners earlier on Monday boiled sap, cleaned the equipment and went home.

It's unclear what caused the fire but authorities say it doesn't look suspicious.

They say the roads were slippery at the time which slowed the response time.
