Texas man pleads not guilty to Vt. robbery spree

Mark Triolo

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) A Texas man shot by Brattleboro Police in connection with a string of robberies in Vermont appeared in federal court Monday.

VT Digger reports Mark Triolo, 46, of Lewisville, Texas, pleaded not guilty Monday in U.S. District Court in Burlington to a federal robbery charge.

Triolo was shot May 4 by local officers and a state trooper, shortly after he allegedly committed robberies in Weathersfield and Westminster. He is also suspected of a May 1 robbery in Vergennes.

Authorities say Triolo came to Vermont after fleeing Texas where he was on parole from a previous robbery conviction.
