Still no deal for UVM Medical Center nurses, hospital

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) The UVM Medical Center and the nurses union were back at the negotiating table Thursday but failed to reach a deal.

Thursday evening, the nurses took to the streets, picketing once again to protest their lack of a contract. The nurses' old contract expired in July.

The union and the hospital remain far apart on wages. Nurses want a 22 percent increase over three years. The hospital is offering 15 percent.
