A majority of voters in Essex Country, New York, have given final approval for the merger of the Elizabethtown-Lewis Central and Westport Central school districts.
The two schools will now combine their middle and high schools. Middle-schoolers will use Westport's building and high-schoolers will use Elizabethtown-Lewis. The two districts already share many programs, including school counselors and sports teams.
