Police have charged an Orange County man with arson in connection with a fire that destroyed a Barre granite shed two weeks ago.

This fire was started at Hard Rock Granite on January 11. Police say they used security footage from a nearby business to track down Glenn Hill, 40, of Washington, Vermont, and pin him with the crime.

Court documents say Hill worked on and off for the granite company and had been keeping a car there. Police say the flames likely started in that car after Hill apparently showed up at the site 10 times in the same night.

He entered a plea of not guilty Tuesday to charges of second-degree arson, setting fires and reckless endangerment. He was ordered held on $5,000 bail.
