Who can make the best birdhouse? That's the big question over at ECHO in Burlington.

Members of the American Institute of Architects e-designed birdhouses keeping three specific birds in mind. ECHO says the house wren, northern flicker and barn swallow are in decline in Vermont, so a good home is important.

"The best nest, in my opinion, is going to be the one that looks the coolest and the one that's using the most reusable materials. They're all supposed to be sustainably built," said Carlie Wright, of the Echo Leahy Center For Lake Champlain.

The winning birdhouse will be set up in the sculpture garden next to ECHO.
