Who's in charge at Burlington's biggest schools? WCAX News has learned the top leaders at Burlington High School and the regional technical center are off the job and parents have been left in the dark.

We obtained the resignation letter of Adam Provost. He resigned his position as director of the Burlington Technical Center Jan. 2, citing medical reasons. We learned Provost has been on administrative leave since early in the school year. School district officials were not available to answer questions about that Friday afternoon.

WCAX News has also learned that Burlington High School Principal Tracy Racicot has been on personal leave since the start of the new year. The school district has not alerted parents about the absence of either administrator and that has some parents annoyed.

"It's always interesting when you hear things for the first time from your child that are as strong as a teacher or principal not being here. It would be wonderful if we could hear it through proper channels like a robocall or an email to the parents or a letter coming home," said Ann Kiley, a BHS mom.

Kiley also says she believes the school is running fine, but she believes that she and other Burlington parents deserve transparency.

Again, we did try to speak with the superintendent Friday afternoon to get a comment but school district officials were unavailable at the time.
