Wild pursuit takes troopers across state lines

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. An arrest on drug charges led police on a wild car chase through the Adirondack Northway.

Troopers pulled over and arrested a Proctor, Vt. man early Friday morning around 4:45 near Exit 23 on the Thruway. Police said as they were arresting the man, a 27-year-old woman jumped behind the wheel of the car and sped off.

She allegedly drove the wrong way on the highway while trying to elude police.

They later found the car abandoned behind a business off of Exit 18 in Glens Falls. Troopers eventually found the driver in another car driven by a 32-year-old woman, also from Proctor.

Both were brought to the Warren County Jail. Police said a trooper vehicle was damaged in the pursuit.
