BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) People across New England got a fresh blast of winter weather overnight, including in Vermont.
Roads could still be slippery Tuesday across our region. VTrans say their crews worked through the night to clear snow and ice from roads.
They say travel could be difficult in some areas as lingering snow showers are still coming to an end and they say pockets of freezing drizzle could continue through the morning.
The slippery roads may have led to a few accidents in Burlington, including a car that slammed into the side of the HomeGoods building in Burlington Monday night. We're told the building is still structurally sound, but there was damage to the car.
And just outside the HomeGoods property, at the Interstate 189 and Route 7 intersection, a car crashed into the underside of a tractor-trailer. The driver's side of the windshield was pushed in.
Officers say the truck driver was not hurt and the driver of the car was taken to the UVM Medical Center as a precaution. Officers say speed may have been a factor.
