The police probe into two suspicious fires in Woodbury is now a homicide investigation.

Friday night, police released the identities of the two people found dead in two burning homes.

Police say David Thompson, 48, was found in his home on Bliss Road. The autopsy revealed he died of multiple gunshot wounds. Vermont State Police now says they're investigating the case as a homicide.

The second victim was identified as Carol Fradette, 29. Her body was found in the house next door. Monday evening, police said Fradette's death was also a homicide. The autopsy found she died of blunt impact and a gunshot wound.

Police say two dogs found in Thompson's home were also shot to death.

Neighbors and family say Thompson and Fradette were dating for about 10 years. Their bodies were found Tuesday, when crews were called to one of the homes to put out a fire.

Police are still investigating the case. Anyone with information is asked to call the Middlesex barracks at 802-229-9191.
