Burlington Police Chief Brandon del Pozo continues to recover in the hospital following a serious bike crash Saturday in the Adirondacks.

New York State Police say del Pozo was heading downhill on Route 73 near the Cascade Lakes when he lost control and was thrown from his bike. Authorities say he suffered a concussion, a broken collarbone and scapula, and other abrasions. After being taken to the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, authorities say he was later airlifted to the UVM Medical Center.

Burlington officials say he is expected to make a full recovery. In the meantime, Deputy Chief Jan Wright is serving as acting chief of the Burlington Police Department.
