Vermont Clean Water week kicks off Monday and demonstrations will be happening at the ECHO Leahy Center all week.

The animal demonstrations start at 10:30 a.m. and last for about five minutes.

It's all to bring attention to the importance of clean water to animal healthy habitats.

* Monday: Kate Kelly will speak about spotted salamanders, vernal pools and clean water

* Tuesday: Bill Kilpatrick will speak about mudpuppies' habitat and clean water.

* Wednesday: Vt. Fish and Wildlife biologist will speak on American eel in the Connecticut River and sea lamprey conservation in the Connecticut River.

* Thursday: Jud Kratzer of Vt. Fish and Wildlife will speak about brookies habitat restoration.

* Friday: Kiley Briggs of U.S. Fish and Wildlife will speak about wood turtles and clean water.

Experts say clean water is essential to drinking, swimming and fishing as well.
