Our recaps of Satuday's high school spring sports championships wrap up with lacrosse.
The Division Two girls final saw second seed U-32 edge top seed and defending champs Green Mountain Valley School 9-8 for the Raiders' third overall state crown and first since 2014. Tied at six at the half, U-32 scored three unanswered goals in the first eleven minutes of the second half and Emily Cremins made 14 saves to snap a 25-game win streak for GMVS. This was also a measure of payback for U-32, which fell to the Gumbies in last year's title game.
Finally, in Division One boys lacrosse, CVU continued its run of dominance, beating BFA-St. Albans 16-6 to claim a sixth straight state title and ninth overall in program history, both state records in D-1 boys lax. The Redhawks jumped out to a 5-1 lead after one quarter, then put the game out of reach with a three goal burst in the final ninety seconds of the second to take a 10-3 lead into the break. CVU finished the season 17-1 and kept their streak of Division One dominance going strong.
