ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WCAX) The UVM men's basketball team thought it had stolen a win when Payton Henson tipped in a rebound with five seconds to play, but Matt Mobley drained an open three at the buzzer to give the Bonnies an 81-79 victory Saturday in Rochester, New York.
Hometown boy Anthony Lamb was huge for the Hoop Cats, pouring in 27 points on the day, while Trae Bell-Haynes added 13 and Everett Duncan had 11. But it was not enough to outscore a St. Bonaventure team with six players who were in double figures.
With the loss, UVM has now dropped four of five to fall to 7-5 on the season. The Hoop Cats return to action Thursday night, when they welcome Quinnipiac to Patrick Gym. Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
