BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) The UVM men's lacrosse team had arguably the best season in school history and now, they're reaping the rewards. Inside Lacrosse revealed its Media All-American selections on Sunday, and Vermont Senior midfielder Ian MacKay and Sophomore goalie Nick Washuta were both named to the third team.
MacKay racked up 39 goals this year, putting him at an even 150 on his career. That makes him the program's all-time leading goal scorer.
Washuta was number one in the country in save percentage at .609 and fourth in goals against average.
MacKay and Washuta are just the second and third Cats to ever earn All-America honors after Scott Gabrielsen did so in 1986.
