Tuesday, April 10th
BOSTON, Mass. - It was a special day for the Norwich women's hockey team.
After capturing the NCAA Division III national championship last month in Northfield, the Cadets made the trek down to Fenway Park on Tuesday to be honored ahead of the Red Sox-Yankees game.
For some of the players, this was the first visit to Fenway Park, but being honored before the game was a first for everyone.
"I mean its an awesome feeling, once in a lifetime opportunity. Couldn't be more excited to be here really.", said senior captain Laurie King.
"It's something that's completely undescribable, I've never had a feeling like it.", added junior captain Bryn Labbe.
"What an unbelievable honor, we're very appreciative to have the opportunity.", said head coach Mark Bolding. "And it was a great season and what a great way to cap it off. Everybody's having a lot of fun and we're trying to represent Norwich well, and just to be in Sox land is so much fun, it's so cool."
