More new apartments set for Winooski

More new apartments set for Winooski.
The 39-unit apartment building will feature 12 market rate units and 27 affordable housing units. Through a partnership with the Committee on Temporary Shelter or COTS, 4 of the affordable units will provide service-enriched housing for the homeless and at-risk of homelessness. The project is in Winooski's Gateway District -- off of East Allen Street. City Mayor Seth Leonard says the project supports the diversity and feel of Winooski.
“We enjoy being that walkable city. Where these types of dense property development opportunities can occur in targeted areas. We also maintain our neighborhood feel and characteristics in those areas as well. But along those gateways, we've said density is ok, it's what people want, it's creating the community people want,” said Winooski Mayor Seth Leonard.
Work will continue throughout the winter, with a completion goal of September 2019.
