Man accused of breaking into apartment, unwrapping family’s Christmas gifts

BANGOR, Maine (WABI/Gray News) — A man in Maine is accused of breaking into a family’s apartment and opening all their Christmas presents.

Jose Harvey, 50, was arrested Sunday after a Bangor resident called and reported that a man had broken into their apartment, was sleeping on their couch and refused to leave, police said.

The tenant told authorities that they also discovered their bathroom window had been opened and all their Christmas presents had been unwrapped.

Authorities said Harvey could not provide a logical reason why he was in the apartment.

He was charged with aggravated criminal trespassing.
